I have often said that I believe the proliferation of social networking sites is really the result of people seeking a sense of “community.”  That’s not necessarily a terribly original idea, but it does come from some personal experience in the area of having functioned within several types of “community.”

Webster’s Online Dictionary gives a fairly lengthy list of examples of how the word “community” applies in various circumstances, but the common denominator comes back to “a unified body of individuals.”

Pursuing the definition further, one finds the definition of “unify” is  “to make into a unit or a coherent whole: unite.”

Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, my spiritual mentor and Elder of 25 years, has often shared with us that separation is an illusion that we suffer from; that We Are One. We are One with the Source (God-Creator); We are One with each other.

“The field, what my people mean when we speak of ‘The Grandmothers blanket’ or some know as the matrix is the oneness we hold, and in that we are interconnected.” -Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, from WORDS OF WISDOM

When I consider that all life, everything – animate and inanimate – is simply a form of energy, then I begin to touch on the greater Truth of existence here – that there really are no boundaries between us – only the illusion of such.

Where do I end and you begin?

“We are the I AM, the Being spoken of by many Sacred Names, which my people speak of as “the one that is in all things.” -Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, from WORDS OF WISDOM

When we buy into the illusion of separation we believe in the body as the extent of our Being. Yet the body merely houses our Essence. It’s a box that will eventually disintegrate and return to dust. Although the body may begin to deteriorate, as with disease or the so-called natural aging process, it only begins its chemical breakdown once “life” as determined by breath and a heartbeat ceases. There is some greater “Essence of Being” that occupies the Body-Altar and defines the difference between Life and No-Life (state of Death)

The first a greatest illusion of Separation is that we exist outside of God and God exists outside of us. If God is all-Present, then, as is often said in the Jewish Tradition, Where is God Not? So God’s everywhere – but not in me? Not in You?

Organized religions have profited over the centuries by convincing people they need someone specially trained to intercede on their behalf to God. Organized religions seek to keep us in a state of “separation” because then they play a role in our “salvation.”

Our “salvation” as humankind is to wake up and realize that We Are One. God-Creator-The Source lives, breathes, moves and has His-Her-Its Bring through us here and now.

“There is no holy life. There is no war between good and evil. There is no sin and no redemption. None of these things matter to the real you. But they all matter hugely to the false you, the one who believes in the separate self. You have tried to take your separate self, with all its loneliness and anxiety and pride, to the door of enlightenment. But it will never go through, because it is a ghost.” — Deepak Chopra

We are One with the Universal flow of Energy from which we came and to which we will return once the body is shed. Our Essence is eternal. We come from the flow of Universal Intelligence, a unified energy, and return to it after experiencing life here in manifest form.  -Deborah Adler/Great Doe

“We are created in the likeness of . . . we are? Children of God grow up and shine, and that light is the Sun, the life-giving force and source. It is not in the few, it is all of us. We are all chosen; if not how did you get here, and by whose choice and will? We are God manifest and we are the glory, we are the love, and the almighty emanates from us! Where is God not?” – Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha  from Ancient Futures: Times Before Time
