Where Do You End and I Begin?

17 Feb

There is an expression in the Jewish Faith, “God, Where are you not?”  Christians refer to God as “All-knowing” and “Omni-Present”- in other words, Everywhere.  There are references in other World Religions that make a case for the omnipresence of God.

My question is, “If God is in All Things” – then doesn’t that mean that God is in all Beings? Would God reside only in inanimate objects but not in human beings and other Creations?

These are obviously questions that have kept philosophers going for as long as human have been able to speak and therefore debate. But my point here isn’t to debate. It’s to offer a simple truth for consideration.

Everything is made up of Energy. We are all, after all, just a conglomerate of  free-floating atomic and subatomic matter coming together in a particular pattern and chemical composition that distinguishes we humans from other creatures, and living beings – including plant, animal and mineral. If everything is composed of Energy, then where do I begin and where do you end?

I have often heard this question poised by my spiritual mentor and Elder, Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha. But it’s not a new question to me.

I can remember walking through woods as a kid pondering the nature of existence – reflecting on a kinship that I felt with all life forms, regardless of their “packaging.” I was attracted very early on to the writings of Dr. Albert Schweitzer who taught and demanded from his colleagues and assistants, a respect for all life in all forms. I really didn’t give more importance to humans than other life forms because to me, Life was a precious commodity in any form, and to be respected.

But back to the original question. We can ask this question of the relationship between humans and God-Creator-the Source. We can also ask the question between humans, and so forth.

An omnipresent God would live, move, breath and have His/Her/Its Being in and through me, Human. So we are One. God lives within His/Her/Its Creation.

You and I and all Beings live in an illusional world where it appears that we are separate units. But that is the illusion of frequency of vibration. We are all still all Energy.

What’s my point here? It’s simple. We are One. We are One with God-Creator-the Source-Universal Intelligence. We are one with the Stars, the Planets, the Universe.  We are one with all Creation. We are One.

For me to be at war with you is to be at war with myself. For you are merely a reflection, as I am of you. It is possible to apply the principle of Superposition from Quantum Physics here, which states:

“the sub-atomic phenomena whereby the building blocks of our material reality exist both as particles and wave-forms at the same time…makes it possible for an electron to be present everywhere simultaneously throughout the universe…According to Einstein,
[superposition…only occurs when it is not being observed or measured. Once a measurement of this phenomenon is attempted, the superposition of the particle being measured in its all-pervading wave-form collapses into a single particle with space-time dimensions.”

So we exist everywhere simultaneously throughout the Universe until we collapse all the infinite possibilities down into one location through our focus. As we contemplate ourselves as looking through the eyes of our vessels, or bodies, we perceive separation and see others as outside ourselves in the specific locality of our focus.

The more we can grasp this and realize that we are all part of a Universal fabric of Energy, we will have less need to believe in separation and less need to seek to destroy others, because we will come to the realization that there is no life that exists outside of us. We are not, as Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha reminds us, in the Universe, the Universe is in us.

“The relating to your Being in the sense of being energy begins to bring you to realization and evolution in what is real about this world and life. Energy does not die or cease to be, it just shifts and changes, at what time, or place in Space, Time and Matter have we been the All That Is….we are the Bees, birds and creatures of the lands! As well as the stars and Universe, we live simply in the process of recognizing ourselves in all of life.” -Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha

“What I know for sure is that behind every catastrophe, there are great lessons to be learned. Among the many that we as a country need to get is that as long as we play the “us and them” game, we don’t evolve as people, as a nation, as a planet.” -Oprah Winfrey
